Bica’s design principles for indoor waste sorting

Our indoor product range is developed and designed based on a set of principles focusing on quality, materials and functionality. They help us maintain a critical and creative approach to product development and ensure that circular thinking becomes an integrated part of the product.

No. 1

Made of solid material to ensure a long-lasting product

Bica’s indoor waste sorting solutions are made from powder‑coated steel (1.3 mm material thickness) using high‑tech machinery with a focus on precision and quality. The steel is extremely durable and has a long lifespan.

No. 2

Components can be separated and recycled

In the design phase, it is always essential to us that all parts can be separated. This makes sense if a component breaks and needs replacement—and even more importantly when the product reaches end‑of‑life. Each component can then be sorted and recycled into new products.

No. 3

Designed in a minimalist, elegant and timeless style

We only add the functions that are necessary—no more, no less. This ensures that the products appear minimalist and elegant, while the timeless design creates a classic piece of furniture that fits into most interiors regardless of style.

No. 4

Easy repair with spare parts

If a part needs replacement for any reason, it is possible to purchase a new component instead of buying an entirely new product. It is easy to replace the part yourself, as the waste solutions are made simply with few components.

No. 5

Designed flexibly with the option to expand

We focus on add‑ons rather than replacements. If the need arises for more sorting or sorting of different waste types, additional waste bins can be purchased and connected to the existing ones. This way, the existing solution is maintained—just in a new setup.

No. 6

Packaged for minimal environmental impact and transport damage

Heavy, high‑quality waste bins require solid packaging to avoid transport damage. We ensure that products are only packed in the absolutely necessary amount of packaging. The packaging can easily be sorted afterwards into clean cardboard, soft plastic and pallet wood.

No. 7

Developed with focus on the physical work environment

A crucial factor in the development of Bica’s waste systems is the working posture of the cleaning staff who handle the waste. Front doors ensure easy emptying without heavy lifting, soft‑close prevents pinched fingers, and wheels make the bins easy to move during floor cleaning.

No. 8

Contributing to the green transition in companies

The waste systems are created to make waste sorting easier in companies. By using a functional and user‑friendly product of high quality, more correct sorting is ensured, contributing to the company’s green transition—for example, by reducing the amount of residual waste.
